Monitoring of judicial independence in Ukraine was conducted in 2007 in the framework of implementation of the Ukrainian-Swiss Project “Support of Judicial Reform in Ukraine. Strengthening of Judicial Independence” with the purpose of identifying principal issues of compliance with the constitutional principle of the independence of judges in Ukraine. This publication contains the methods of monitoring, the system of judicial independence assessment on the basis of international standards and the results of polling, which are accompanied by experts’ conclusions..
